Make a flying machine this Saturday!

This Saturday, take to the air with Science Party-cles! Followed by a screening of Close Encounters of the Third Kind.

Science Party-cles is a Sheffield based organisation run by Chloe Oakland and Katie Stalker, two young female scientists with a passion to engage, energise and educate young people about the fascinating world of science. They provide science-themed birthday parties and educational events designed to increase children’s knowledge and enjoyment of science through demonstrations, interactive activities and hands on experiments. 

As part of the workshop, participants will be:

  • Exploring the Bernoulli principle that allows aeroplanes to fly.
  • Giving people the chance to build and fly their own mini-planes, helicopters and boomerangs.
  • Using Newton's Third Law to launch balloon rockets and vinegar rockets.
