Sheffield Film Festival - Closing Night Event: My Favourite Films With... Lucy Beaumont 18
Sheffield Film Festival is proud to welcome actress, writer and comedian Lucy Beaumont (Taskmaster, Meet the Richardsons, Lucy & Sam's Perfect Brains) to discuss the role cinema has played in her life in the first edition of Showroom’s special screenings strand, ‘My Favourite Films with...’
Lucy will join us live on stage to chat about the films she loves and the role they have played in her life, and the influence they have had on her as an artist, before introducing her choice of film screening.
We are thrilled that Lucy will present a special double-bill of films that have deeply influenced her life and career, Mike Leigh’s classic entries into the Play for Today series, 1976’s Nuts in May and 1977’s Abigail’s Party. Both films star the effervescent national treasure Alison Steadman in two of her most iconic roles, and the combination of Leigh’s razor-sharp, observational comedy writing alongside Steadman at her very finest will make for a perfect Friday night.
Tickets are priced at £20 and include entry to the live Q&A with Lucy Beaumont and seats for both Nuts in May and Abigail’s Party.
