The Shop Around The Corner U
In Ernst Lubitsch’s The Shop Around the Corner, James Stewart and Margaret Sullavan are feuding shop clerks who are also unknowingly pen pals. Over time, they exchange countless letters, falling in love without realising romance is blossoming so close to home.
Often overlooked in favour of James Stewart’s now Christmas-classic It’s a Wonderful Life, The Shop Around the Corner is one of the most charming and festive romantic films of all time. It was loosely remade in the 1990s as You’ve Got Mail, starring Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks, but Lubitsch’s original remains particularly moving several decades on.
Join us this festive season as The Shop Around the Corner returns to the big screen with a brand new 4K restoration.
