Luna loves Giuseppe and after pining after him from afar she
finally plucks up the courage to speak to him. Together they spend a dreamy
afternoon amongst the Sicilian countryside until, after waiting from him to
return from the stables, Giuseppe is gone.
Determined to find the boy she is hopelessly devoted to,
Luna begins to venture deeper into the dark Sicilian forest and her own mind,
in the hopes of finding him and bringing him back to her. Yet nothing can
prepare either of them for the devastating events which lie ahead.
Inspired by mysterious, true events of a Mafia kidnapping,
directors Fabio Grassadonia and Antonio Piazza seamlessly blend reality
with fantasy in this vivid fairy tale that draws from the best of David Lynch
and Del Toro.
