Spirit of Adventure defines the essence of ShAFF.

1. 4DWN 17 minutes

   4DWN tells the unconventional, and deeply personal story of a South Dallas skatepark whose mission is to change the lives of everyone that walks through the gate. The 4DWN skatepark is a resilience hub rooted in skate culture tackling head on the challenges of food insecurity and social justice in one of the city’s poorest communities. 4DWN is at once punk, irreverent, and authentic. But it’s also organic, nurturing, and profound. The magic of this skatepark-turned-urban farm is brought to life through a beautiful, intimate mixed media approach that pays homage to the canon of skate films that came before it. 4DWN chronicles the lives, both past and present, of the Park’s founders, as well as one budding young skateboarder who finds kinship, camaraderie, and a reason to keep pushing.

2. Andrea 40 minutes

   Nina Caprez, climbing icon, sets off on the most thrilling adventure of her career, accompanied by her partner Jérémy Bernard, an extreme sports photographer, and their daughter Lia. The family embarks on a journey to Morocco at the wheel of Andrea for a highly personal project, encountering local cultures and climbers along the way. However, the journey and life's unforeseen twists will reveal their joys, anxieties, and deep personalities. An unpaved route, welcome aboard.

3. ELLADJ 6 minutes

   A glimpse of the remarkable Elladj Baldé, a Canadian figure skater who found his voice and fan base through wild ice skating. The film centers on the transformative power of embracing one's passion over measurable results.

4. Obseassion 33 minutes

   Laure Mayer is a true artist when it comes to classic longboard. She has been living in Australia for 10 years, where she designs technical surfsuits for women, so they stay comfortable and confident while surfing. She decided to return to her roots, and embark on a roadtrip from France to Spain & Portugal, in order to take the pulse of women’s surfing culture on Europe’s west coast. And it’s beating strong! She visits 5 friends who, like her, dedicate their lives to surfing : they are teachers, photographers, mothers, artists and have a lot to say about longboarding and the place of women on a surfboard. They talk about their obsession with surfing ; they jokingly go over how this all-consuming passion translates into their everyday life and why, as women, it’s still not a given; they talk about the invisible rules that restrain them, and how they are actually changing for the better; They offer a striking look at the place of women in the line-up and want to help ensure that future generations of women can surf with confidence and have the freedom to embrace their own style. Directed by Laura & Romain Decomble, Obseassion sheds a touching light on how these energetic women approach surfing : they form a strong, more inclusive community that is thriving around the world. And they do that have a say as they’re shaping the surf of tomorrow.
