Sweetheart 15
Winner of the audience award at Glasgow Film Festival, Marley Morrison’s debut Sweetheart captures the ups and downs of the quintessential British family holiday. 17-year old AJ finds herself on a four-hour car journey to the Dorset coast with her mum (Jo Hartley) and little sister; she expects this stay at the seaside holiday park to be a ‘week of hell’. That is, until she lays her eyes on resident lifeguard, Isla, and is instantly infatuated. A refreshing take on the coming-of-age story, Sweetheart is a confident debut feature with plenty of laughs carried by some interesting dramatic currents.
