Adapted from Ian McEwan’s Best-selling novel of the same name and featuring stellar central performances from Emma Thompson and Stanley Tucci, The Children Act is a soulful and sensitive drama.

Fiona (grippingly played by Thompson) is a compassionate High Court judge specialising in the ethically complex cases of family law. Her marriage to American professor Jack (Tucci) is at a breaking point after years of prioritising work over emotional commitment. In this moment of personal crisis, Fiona is asked to rule on the case of Adam, a brilliant boy who is refusing the blood transfusion that will save his life. Adam is three months from his 18th birthday and still legally a child. Fiona faces the impossible decision – should she force him to live?
