The Fever 12A
Directed by Maya Da-Rin, The Fever is a quietly burning drama about indigenous peoples torn between their source of income – the city – and their source of strength: the rainforest.
Manaus is an industrial city surrounded by the Amazon rainforest. Justino, a member of the indigenous Desana people, lives a life in two halves. By day, he works long shifts as a security guard at the cargo port, by night he returns to the Amazon where he lives with his daughter.
When his daughter says she wants to study in Brasillia, Justino’s life becomes disrupted and he comes down with a mysterious fever.
