The French Dispatch 15
The French Dispatch brings to life a collection of stories from the final issue of an American magazine published in a fictional 20th century French city. Told with Wes Anderson’s usual visual flair and whimsy, and with an ensemble cast featuring Tilda Swinton, Timothée Chalamet, Billy Murray and Owen Wilson, The French Dispatch is a loving ode to the history of print journalism.
In part inspired by Anderson’s own love of American magazine The New Yorker, the film bases characters and events on real-life equivalents. It is an anthology film told in five parts, each featuring the charming style that embodies Anderson’s work from The Royal Tenenbaums (2001) to The Grand Budapest Hotel (2014)
