Joachim Trier (Louder Than Bombs, Oslo, August 31st) and his regular co-writer Eskil Vogt take off in a new direction with this spine-tingling mystery-thriller. Growing up a devout Christian in a stark, remote Norwegian town, Thelma naturally branches out when she leaves for University. She develops a fizzing chemistry with Anja that seems to release mysterious telekinetic powers within her. Thelma’s new desires conflict with her repressive upbringing, and the effects fracture the world around her. A dark and surreal exploration of our most devious human desires.
