Showroom Classics: The Remains of the Day U
Across the festive period, to celebrate the release of new documentary Merchant Ivory, Showroom is shining a spotlight on this iconic filmmaking team with two of their most well known and loved works.
Adapted from the Booker Prize winning novel by Kazuo Ishiguro and starring Anthony Hopkins, The Remains of the Day tells the story of a butler who sacrificed body and soul to service in the years leading up to World War II. He realises too late how misguided his loyalty was to his lordly employer when faced with a budding romance.
The star-studded cast also includes Emma Thompson, Christopher Reeve, and Hugh Grant amongst many more.
From December 27, you can also see Merchant Ivory’s A Room with a View on the big screen as part of Showroom Classics.
