Where is Anne Frank PG
Directed by Ari Folman (Waltz with Bashir) Where is Anne Frank is a feature magical realism animation based on one of the world’s most important and bestselling books: Anne Frank’s Diary of a Young Girl.
Israeli director Ari Folman brings Kitty to life for the first time, telling her own story. Fiery teenager Kitty, Anne Frank’s imaginary friend to whom her famous diary is dedicated explores modern day in the Amsterdam house where Anne had taken refuge with her family. Believing her to still be alive, Kitty embarks on a journey to find Anne in today’s Europe. While the young girl is shocked by the modern world, she also comes across Anne’s vast legacy including the Frank family’s last months in the Holocaust, and Europe after the Second World War.
Ari Folman’s first international animated film on the Holocaust premiered as part of the 2021 Cannes Film Festival official selection.
