London River 12A
London River centres on the journey of a Muslim man and Christian woman as they search for their children following the 2005 London bombings. As the story unfolds, they learn that remarkably their children had been living together and the two family’s very different backgrounds are brought together in this story of overcoming prejudice, emotional exploration and discovery.
A gripping drama capturing an important moment in our recent history, with outstanding performances from Brenda Blethyn and Sotigui Kouyate.
"This takes a hard look at racial prejudice and is powered by Blethyn, whose repressed hysteria contrasts with Kouyaté’s calm resignation. It’s also a hugely atmospheric, fascinating study of how the unprepared react to emergencies and a poignant watch for Londoners in particular."
Empire
"... a tender-but-tough piece of realism that is also in the premium class of London dramas."
