Legendary director Hayao Miyazaki (Spirited Away, My Neighbour Totoro) returns 10 years after announcing his retirement, for what is dubbed as his true “final film”, with this sweeping epic which was the opening night film at the Toronto International Film Festival and has received wide reaching acclaim.
Mahito, a young 12-year-old boy, struggles to settle in a new town after his mother's death. However, when a talking heron informs Mahito that his mother is still alive, he enters an abandoned tower in search of her, which takes him to another world.
The film will be screening in the dubbed version, with an all-star cast including Robert Pattinson, Christian Bale, Mark Hamill and Florence Pugh.
The Boy and the Heron is rated 12A, as it contains moderate threat, bloody images, brief self-harm. For fans of Ponyo, Suzume, and Spirited Away
Family Time screenings are relaxed and feature subtitles and low-level lighting for accessibility and comfort for all. All tickets are £5. Please find more information about Family Time here.
