The pioneering series of gallery and artists films for the cinema returns for a seventh season, featuring brand new feature films on some of the world’s best loved art and artists.
Exhibition on Screen provides access to the world’s greatest art and artistic institutions, each film offers a cinematic journey into the personal and creative lives of history’s best-loved artists. Since being launched in 2011 by filmmaker Phil Grabsky, EXHIBITION ON SCREEN has released 22 films which have been shown in more than 60 countries across the globe.
The new films in Season Seven will reveal the story behind one of the most original and popular artists of recent years, Lucian Freud - the grandson of Sigmund Freud - who was a key figure in London’s radical post-war art scene; they will delve deep into art representing one of the most significant events in history – the death and resurrection of Jesus; and explore the iconic Frida Kahlo – marking her birthday with a worldwide special event screening on 6th July.
