Unique and Affordable Family Specials at Showroom this Autumn
If you have kids, you’re always looking for ways to keep the whole family entertained on a budget. With this in mind, Showroom Cinema’s family-friendly programme combines the familiar pleasures of a cinema trip with extra special added fun you won’t find elsewhere - plus £5 tickets for those under 15! And we have something for everyone this autumn, from the latest Paddington to iconic musicals.
Every Saturday at 11am, you can look forward to a relaxed screening for all ages at Family Time. On 19 October, we have chosen 2014’s modern classic The Lego Movie in collaboration with Builder’s Brew, Sheffield's own LEGO® café. Builder's Brew will host a pop-up LEGO® session in the Showroom Café, with raffle prizes available for imaginative builders.
This special event was selected in anticipation of our BFI London Film Festival preview of Pharrell’s LEGO® biopic, Piece by Piece, screening on the evening of Monday 21 October - the perfect opportunity to give little ones their first taste of a film festival premiere!
If you’re as excited as we are for Paddington Bear’s third outing, Paddington in Peru, screening from 8 November, you can join us for a hot chocolate and a cosy double bill of Paddington and Paddington 2 on Sunday 20 October, also known as Paddington Day! Alongside the films, you can grab some exclusive freebies and a sneak preview of our favourite bear's next adventure.
Craving more new releases? When October half term rolls around we are excited to bring Sheffield families the critically acclaimed new animation The Wild Robot daily from Friday 25 October. The following month we bring the long-awaited film adaptation of the record-breaking musical Wicked from 22 November. With our special Family Tickets only £25 all day every day, accessing the films everyone is talking about is easier than ever.
But if you fancy some classic cinema, our nostalgic Family Time screenings continue with special screenings such as The Witches in collaboration with Celluloid Screams Horror Festival, Toy Story – screened from an original 90s VHS! - 1986’s The Karate Kid, as part of our Art of Action season, and one of the greatest films of all time, The Wizard of Oz, to get you excited for Wicked! Other unique specials include short films from FFStival, our brand-new female filmmaker celebration, and the Royal Opera House’s Wolf Witch Giant Fairy for your adventurous young culture vultures!
