Exciting new releases coming to Showroom screens in early 2025

2025 is just around the corner, and with that comes an array of the finest new release films, right to Showroom’s screen. January is jam-packed with some of the world’s best directors and actors, bringing us new stories to fascinate and enthral.

On New Year’s Day, we have two incredible treats for you. Almut (Florence Pugh) and Tobias (Andrew Garfield) are brought together in a surprise encounter that changes their lives in We Live in Time, a tear-jerking, non-linear romance.

On the same day, from The VVitch and The Lighthouse director Robert Eggers, Nosferatu is a gothic tale of obsession between a haunted young woman and the terrifying vampire infatuated with her, leaving a trail of untold horror in its wake.

The following week comes A Real Pain, written, directed by and co-starring Jesse Eisenberg alongside a scene-stealing Kieran Culkin, this funny and moving dramedy sees two polar opposites tour through Poland to honour their beloved grandmother.

Maria, from director Pablo Larrain, tells the tumultuous, beautiful and tragic story of the life of the world’s greatest female opera singer, Maria Callas (Angelina Jolie) relived and reimagined during her final days in 1970s Paris.

Babygirl is a modern take on the erotic thriller, which follows a high-powered CEO (Nicole Kidman) who puts her career and family on the line when she begins a torrid affair with her much younger intern (Harris Dickinson).

New York, 1961. Against the backdrop of a vibrant music scene and tumultuous cultural upheaval, an enigmatic 19-year-old (Bob Dylan, played by Timothée Chalamet) from Minnesota arrives to change the course of American music in A Complete Unknown.

On Friday 24 January, a modern masterpiece hits our screens from Vox Lux director Brady Corbet. The Brutalist stars Adrien Brody as an architect forced to flee Europe during World War II, who must rebuild his life in Pennsylvania.

Closing out the month is Hard Truths. Legendary filmmaker Mike Leigh returns to the contemporary world with a fierce, compassionate, and often darkly humorous study of family and the thorny ties that bind us. Starring Oscar-nominated Marianne Jean-Batiste.
