In Radu Jude’s Bad Luck Banging or Loony Porn, Emi, a school teacher, finds both her career and personal reputation under threat after a private sex tape is leaked online. Forced to meet the parents who are demanding her dismissal, Emi refuses to give in to their pressure.
A bold and provocative film from Romanian director Radu Jude, at this year’s Berlin Film Festival, Bad Luck Banging took home the Golden Bear, the festival’s highest award. Told in three parts, the film is set during the COVID 19 pandemic and reflects some of the upheaval and frustration of this time. A rebellious satire from one of Romania’s most ambitious directors, this is one of 2021’s most unique films.
Our opening screening of Bad Luck Banging or Loony Porn on Friday 26th November will be followed by a recorded Q&A with Hannah Flint and director Radu Jude.
