Running Mad: The Barkley Marathons + Q&A with Nicky Spinks 12A
"It just plays on you and eats away at you and that's why people become so obsessed. It's ridiculous how much you want to be back in it after you fail."
This hilarious documentary tells the story of an ultramarathon race so wildly difficult only 15 people have ever finished it. Focusing on the colourful and intensely driven competitors, the film takes a humorous and insightful look at a running mad community pursuing a goal most of us would consider beyond the realms of sanity.
We’re honoured that Yorkshire based ultramarathon runner Nicky Spinks, who competed in this year’s Barkley Marathons, will be joining us to introduce the film and participate in a Q&A afterwards.
This screening is part of Film Feels: Obsession, a UK-wide cinema season, supported by the National Lottery and BFI Film Audience Network. Explore all films and events at www.filmfeels.co.uk
