CODA 12A
As a CODA (Child of Deaf Adults) Ruby is the only hearing person in her deaf family. When the family's fishing business is threatened, Ruby finds herself torn between pursuing her love of music and her fear of abandoning her parents.
This warm, sensitive film won both the Grand Jury Prize and the Audience Award when it screened at the Sundance Film Festival. A thoughtful, crowd-pleasing, coming-of-age comedy drama with heaps of heart.
Released with open captions, all screenings of CODA will have English subtitles for English dialogue and non-dialogue sounds such as music, a car door slamming, the phone ringing, etc.
