Dune is the story of Paul Atreides (Timothée
Chalamet), a gifted young man born into a destiny beyond his understanding. To
save his family and his people, he must travel to the most dangerous planet in
the universe, Arrakis, the source of the most valuable substance in space. An
adaptation of Frank Herbert’s landmark 1965 sci-fi novel, Denis Villeneuve’s Dune
was one of the most anticipated films of 2021. Villeneuve has is no stranger to
science fiction, directing Arrival in 2016 and Blade Runner 2049
in 2017. Here he tackles a story that has been notoriously difficult to bring
to the big screen in the past: Alejandro Jodorowsky and Ridley Scott both
abandoned their versions, while David Lynch’s 1984 Dune has become
something of a cult-classic.
*Proof of purchase to both screenings of Dune on Thursday 29 February 2024, and Dune: Part Two at 0.01am on Friday 1 March 2024 must be presented at box office.
