Westival: The French Dispatch 15
Showing as part of Westival 2025
A love letter to journalists set in an outpost of an American newspaper in a fictional 20th-century French city that brings to life a collection of stories published in "The French Dispatch.
In part inspired by Anderson’s own love of American magazine The New Yorker, the film bases characters and events on real-life equivalents. It is an anthology film told in five parts, each featuring the charming style that embodies Anderson’s work from The Royal Tenenbaums (2001) to The Grand Budapest Hotel (2014). It stars Benicio del Toro, Adrien Brody, Tilda Swinton, Léa Seydoux, Frances McDormand, Timothée Chalamet, Lyna Khoudri, Jeffrey Wright, Mathieu Amalric, Stephen Park, Bill Murray and Owen Wilson.
