Family Time: The Muppets U
This March, Family Time is celebrating all things Muppets! This week, Muppet March concludes with the fantastic 2011 “reboot” of The Muppets ‘brand’, after it was brought under ownership of Disney following Jim Henson’s sad passing.
Despite the absence of some of the original Muppet team, this modern meta-musical take on our favourite characters, as well as new ones, is a total delight.
After years out of the limelight, The Muppets are back but broke. Only Walter, a man born as a muppet (or a muppet born a man?), can save Kermit and the gang from the money grabbing advances of an oil magnate. Walter and his new friends must put on a show to end all shows to save their home, the legendary Muppets Theatre.
Written by and starring Jason Segal (How I Met Your Mother) with an Oscar winning song by Flight of the Conchords’ Bret McKenzie, The Muppets is full of laughs for all ages.
The Muppets is rated U, though it contains mild comic violence, brief rude humour and mild bad language. For fans of Sing, The Lego Movie, and Paddington 2.
Join us for more Muppet March fun, with screenings of other Henson-hits all month long, every Saturday at 11am until the end of the month!
Family Time screenings are relaxed and feature subtitles and low-level lighting for accessibility and comfort for all. All tickets are £5. Please find more information about Family Time here.
