Futura 12A
Filmmakers Pietro Marcello, Francesco Munzi and Alice Rohrwacher travel through Italy to interview boys and girls of the country between 15 and 20. The project halted by the pandemic resumes post restrictions to reveal the portrait of the teen’s dreams and desires for the future.
Faced with varying political divisions, socio-economic backgrounds and a global crisis the youth of Italy tell their stories and hold a mirror up to today’s adults. Torn between the opportunities that surround them, the dreams of what they want to become and the hurdles they have to overcome, the collaboration of stories reveal that despite their differences they share the same fears and feelings. Featuring voiceover narration from the filmmakers, Futura captures their emotional response to their reflections on the future of Italy’s youth.
