Gattaca 15
The film dates from 1997, 9 years into the Human Genome Project, and tells the story of an ‘invalid' who tries to pass as a valid in order to fulfil his dream of going on a space mission. It raises questions about genes and identity, human perfection and ‘validity', enhancement and discrimination – and whether we are yet, or are going towards, a post-human age, and what that might mean.
