I, Daniel Blake 15
Ken Loach won the Palme D’or at this years Cannes Film Festival for his deeply moving, starkly realistic portrayal of a man thrust into the benefits system after suffering a heart attack. Declared fit to work despite his illness, Daniel must navigate the endless red tape and bureaucracy whilst struggling to keep a roof over his head, meanwhile befriending a young single mother in the same position. Unrelenting and devastating, a damning indictment on our society and a powerful call to arms.
On Thursday 17 November there will be a special screening of I, Daniel Blake at 18:00, introduced by none other than Ken Loach himself and with a short Q&A before the film. For more information and to book tickets, click here.
