In The Heat of The Night 12A

This classic mystery drama tells the story of Virgil Tibbs (Sidney Poitier), a black police detective who becomes involved in a murder investigation in a small Mississipi town - when a white officer, Bill Gillespie (Rod Steiger), brings him in on suspicion of committing the crime.

After showing his credentials and proving he wasn't involved in the murder, Tibbs must then work together with Gillespie in order to solve the mystery. A real racial drama which cuts to the heart of the issues affecting African Americans in the 1960s - with many of these same problems unfortunately still relevant today.
