Last Night In Soho 18
In Edgar Wright’s Last Night in Soho, Eloise, an aspiring fashion designer who is obsessed with the 1960s, finds herself able to travel back in time to the decade. Played with wide-eyed innocence by Thomasin McKenzie, Eloise finds refuge in returning to the 60s; each night she slips back in time, she embodies the vampish Sandie (Anya Taylor-Joy), who dreams of becoming a singer. Soon, Eloise finds that the glamour of the past is not all it seems, as her dreams begin to splinter into something darker.
With references to Repulsion (1965) and Don’t Look Now (1973) and heavily leaning into giallo visuals, Last Night in Soho is a dark, dazzling journey to the swinging sixties.
