Linnea Pettersson profile
I joined the Showroom as the Audience Development Assistant back in 2016, working across the programming and marketing teams to deliver a diverse range of events, film seasons and special screenings with partners and organisations from around the world. In 2018, I became the Young Audiences Coordinator, which means my focus is on making the venue and programme interesting and accessible to young people, with the aim of helping to build the next generation of indie cinema lovers. I coordinate education activity at the Showroom, such as school trips and study days, as well as the family programme, Reel Adventures. I also work closely with schools, colleges and universities to offer opportunities to students to learn about what it's like to work in independent film exhibition - but I love to talk to any young people who are interested, whether they are in education or not. Please do get in touch if you would like to find out more!
I have a BA and MA in English Literature at the University of Sheffield - where I wrote extensively on film and started a film screening and discussion group to share this passion with others. I worked on regional marketing campaigns for the films God's Own Country and I Am Not a Witch, and have worked for Cinema For All, an organisation who offer support and development to community cinemas, pop-ups and film society screenings all over the UK.

If you need some film-based things to do this summer and fancy something a little bit different, read on to see what we have on offer (no young person necessary, we’ve picked a programme of films that can be enjoyed by anyone and everyone).
