Nightmare Alley 15
Nightmare Alley is the latest from ‘Master of Monsters’ Guillermo del Toro, his first film since his multi-award winning hit The Shape of Water. A sleek and stylish film noir with definite nods to del Toro’s earlier works, it tells the story of Stan Carlisle (Bradley Cooper), an ambitious ‘carny’ with a talent for manipulating people with a few well-chosen words, who hooks up with Dr. Lilith Ritter (Cate Blanchett), a psychiatrist who is even more dangerous than he is.
Featuring a stellar ensemble cast, this is the second time Nightmare Alley has been brought to the big screen. The original novel, penned by William Lindsay Gresham in 1946 was first made into an often overlooked film noir in 1947 starring the great Tyrone Power.
