Covering over one third of the Earth, deserts are some of the most unforgiving environments on our planet, where the Gobi desert’s temperatures can rage from
-40oC to +50oC. This episode looks at how the African Elephant will have to travel across this landscape up to 50 miles a day in search of food.

Planet Earth Diaries looks at how the film crew had to spend two months in Mongolia to search for the elusive Bactrain Camel.
