A beautiful, sad and sweet tale of a Japanese bakery transformed by an unlikely pairing. Sentaro runs a small dorayaki (pancake) stand, but business is slow – until he hires 76-year old Tokue. Her miraculous homemade sweet bean paste (an) brings joy to all who eat it, but what is the sadness that lies in her past? As the community around them is brought together by their love of this humble snack, this tender, intimate film glows with humanity and small acts of kindness.
