50 Years of Hip Hop DJ Event

Alongside 50 Years of Blaxploitation, 2023 also marks 50 years of Hip Hop. On 14 October, Showroom Cinema will celebrate five decades of ground-breaking bars and beats.

From the inception of the genre with pioneers DJ Kool Herc, Grandmaster Flash and The Sugarhill Gang, through to its mainstream explosion in the late 80s and early 90s with Public Enemy, N.W.A., Wu-Tang Clan, Missy Elliott, and Tupac Shakur, right through to modern day pioneers including Kendrick Lamar, Tyler, the Creator and Cardi B. Join us in the Café Bar for a great night of music.
