Home-Coming: Bubba 2000 Exhibition
This October, renowned artist Bubba 2000 returns to Sheffield for Home-Coming, an exciting new exhibition at Work Station. The event celebrates the 30th anniversaries of both Bubba 2000’s professional career and Work Station’s role as a creative hub in the city.
The exhibition will showcase never-before-seen works from Bubba 2000, famous for his stencil-style illustrations, who will present newly painted pieces, including selections from his ongoing "Shadow/Noir" series.
After a minor stroke in 2018 left Bubba 2000 unable to use his natural left hand, the artist relearned to paint with his right hand during lockdown. Home-Coming marks his first show in Sheffield since 2020, following years of exhibiting with Quantus Gallery in London.
Work Station, located on Paternoster Row, has been a cornerstone of Sheffield’s creative community since its founding in 1994. In that year, an 18-year-old Jonathan Matthewson (now known as Bubba 2000) launched his first professional studio in the space. Since then, Bubba 2000 has gained acclaim, exhibiting across the UK and the US, collaborating with major artists such as Banksy and Jamie Hewlett, and creating murals that celebrate Sheffield’s local legends.
Over the past three decades, Work Station has nurtured artists and small businesses alike, helping 250 companies generate over £340 million in combined turnover, and creating a vibrant home for more than 600 people each year.
Don't miss this special opportunity to see Bubba 2000’s Home-Coming in the city where it all began!
