LKFF: Little Forest + Intro U
Adapted from a popular ‘slice-of-life’ manga series of the same name, Little Forest follows student Hye-won (Kim Tae-ri) as she returns home from Seoul to the rural village where she grew up. Though intending for her visit to only last a few days, she ends up staying much longer and finds a renewed sense of peace and satisfaction in the simple joys of life in the countryside. As the seasons slowly change around her, Hye-won reconnects with her absent mother (Moon Sori) and rediscovers the joys of cooking, eating and living life at a slower pace. Just like a good meal, this gentle, sweet and soul-quenching feast of a film is sure to leave you feeling warm and satisfied.
This screening will be introduced by Dr Chi-Yun Shin, Principal Lecturer in Film Studies at Sheffield Hallam University.
Little Forest is screening as part of the London Korean Film Festival’s touring programme.
