Young Programmers Festival 2024: Paprika 15
Having heavily inspired Nolan’s Inception both aesthetically and in terms of narrative, Satoshi Kon’s Paprika follows the conflict inflicted by a dream terrorist, who steals a device that allows others to share dreams for therapeutic purposes.
Spurred into action, Dr Atsuko Chiba works as a scientist in her reality and inhabits the persona of Paprika in the dream world in order to save the psyche of humanity as the two worlds begin to merge together.
Part of our Young Programmer film season - Fake Realities
The Fake Reality double-bill of Inception and Paprika invites audiences to contemplate the role of dreams within our own reality. Dreams may be complex, but they serve as reflections to the foundational psyche of our common humanity.
