Claire (Award-winning actress Catherine Frot) is a virtuous midwife whose life if being thrown to imbalance: the beloved Paris maternity clinic in which she works is being closed down, her son is beginning to leave home, and her late father’s mistress Béatrice has emerged with some grave news after 30 years of no contact. Béatrice (played immaculately by Catherine Deneuve) is a captivating woman, electric and eccentric, sensual and selfish: she is the Ying to Claire’s wholesome and caring Yang, but in this time of need can Claire let go of the past and overcome their differences?
