Following the commandant of Auschwitz, Rudolf Höss (Christian Friedel), and his wife Hedwig (Sandra Hüller), strive to build a dream life for their family in a house and garden next to the camp.
Based on the novel by Martin Amis, Glazer has adapted the book to be a powerful and deeply chilling account of the calculations and machinations behind the construction of the Holocaust, and the disturbing juxtaposition of idyllic Nazi homelife alongside mass genocide.
