Homeless drifter Wendy Carroll and her faithful dog Lucy are heading towards a new life in Alaska when their car breaks down, triggering a series of events that could rip apart the inseparable pair.
The first film made as a collaboration between auteur filmmaker Kelly Reichardt and acclaimed actress Michelle Williams, Wendy and Lucy set the stage for a partnership that brought together Reichardt’s gritty Americana and Williams emotional depth across the next 15 years.
Starring alongside Williams is Reichardt’s own dog, Lucy.
