On the cusp of her adolescence, 11-year-old Margaret is being moved by her parents from bustling New York City to sleepy New Jersey. These simultaneous transitions force Margaret to question everything she knows about life, growing up, and who she is. Though she has the support of her mother and grandmother (Rachel McAdams and Kathy Bates), they, too, are entering challenging new phases in their lives, leaving Margaret to find her own place in her changing world.
Adapted from the taboo-busting 1970 novel by Judy Blume, directed by Kelly Fremon Craig (The Edge of Seventeen) and produced by James L. Brooks, Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret deals with every topic from puberty to religion with frank, big-hearted humour and cross-generational appeal.
