Jack Skellington, the Pumpkin King of Halloween Town, is getting tired of his daily routine. In search of something new, he stumbles upon a door to Christmas Town. Overwhelmed by this new experience, Jack plots to bring a new set of traditions back home – even if he doesn’t fully understand them.
Directed by Coraline’s Henry Selick and based on a short story by the unmistakable Tim Burton, The Nightmare Before Christmas has developed a strong cult following in the 30 years since its release.
With its unique blend of spooky and festive themes, gothic animation style, and off kilter musical numbers, the film is considered one of best animated films of all time and was the first of its kind to receive an Oscar nomination for Best Visual Effects.
