TILKA is an intimate portrait of five women who meet to create a striking, collective piece of theatre amid Lebanon’s collapse. In the mountains outside Beirut, they weave together a story inspired by their experiences as women fighting against the odds for their rights. Director Myriam Geagea describes the film as "a testament to the transformative power of art and self-expression."
TILKA won Best Local Documentary at the Lebanese Independent Film Festival and premiered in the UK at Cambridge Film Festival.
Join a workshop before the screening with facilitator and TILKA producer Naqiya Ebrahim, who will be leading a movement workshop on the theme of home and belonging - in the style of the theatre workshops seen in TILKA.
